Data & privacy

Where is my data stored?

Only on your phone. Your journal is encrypted on the device, your photos stay in the app’s files and your health tracking in its local storage. There is no account and no cloud sync.

Why is there no account?

So your data exists in exactly one place: your phone. Without an account nothing ties it to your identity, and there is nothing to hack on a server.

How do I delete all my data?

In Settings → Backup & data, choose to delete everything. It is permanent: export a backup first if you want to keep it. Uninstalling the app also erases everything.

App lock & incognito

How do I lock the app?

In Settings → Security & privacy, create a 6-digit passcode then turn on Face ID or fingerprint. The app relocks when you leave it.

How does incognito mode work?

In the same menu, choose what it hides: names, photos, numbers and charts, kinks, parties and health. Turn on “Shake to hide” to toggle it with three quick shakes.

Backup

How do I back up my journal?

In Settings → Backup & data, export a CSV file (profiles, health, lists) and keep it wherever you like: Files, personal cloud, computer.

How do I restore on a new phone?

Install heatmeUp, open Settings → Backup & data, then restore your file. The data is merged with what is already there, without duplicates.

Health & notifications

I am not getting my reminders

Open Settings → Notifications: check the main switch, the relevant category and your phone’s permission. You can send a test notification, and the app shows your next scheduled reminder.

How do I set up my PrEP?

In the Health tab, choose your mode (on demand, daily or injectable), enter your first dose and the time of your reminder.

General

How do I change the language?

In Settings → Language: French, English, or your phone’s language. What you wrote yourself (names, notes, lists) is not translated.

Can I see the introduction again?

Yes, from Settings → Replay the introduction. You can also change your starting preferences there.
